Retouching tools are great for correcting minor defects and for putting the finishing touches on your pictures.
"Red eye" is a common problem that appears whenever a flash is used in photography. The resulting "red eyes" can easily be corrected with the Red Eye reduction tool.
The Clone Stamp tool is used to retouch photos in order to remove unwanted elements (such as marks caused by a scratched lens, or objects in the shot that distract from the subject, etc.).
The Iron tool is used for smoothing out fine details, such as on someone’s cheek in a portrait photograph.
The Paintbrush tool is convenient for minor color touch-ups: the color is selected from one area in the photo and "dragged" to the desired spot with the mouse.
The Fills tool is useful for "filling in" a selected area with a new color.
The Effect Brush is made for local edits to brightness and contrast, gamma correction, saturation, and sharpening—simply "brush on" the changes using a mouse or tablet.
The Clone Stamp, Iron, Paintbrush, Effect Brush and Red Eye Reduction tools each support several settings, some of which can be changed while making modifications to the photo. The settings can be changed in the tool panel or with the keyboard. When using a Pen Tablet, the retouching tool settings can conveniently be changed by varying the pressure on the pen.
