How is TR-10i different from other Internet VoIP phones? |
| TR-10i is a multi-functional speakerphone that combines the features of a hands-free speaker, a handset, and a voice recorder, all in one, compact unit. It has exceptional sound quality and is ideal for use with iChat. Use it to: |
| • |
Change from a hands-free speaker to personal handset at the flip of a switch. |
| • |
Have long conversations or conferences in hands free mode; when it gets personal, simply switch to handset mode. |
| • |
Focus on what you have to say, not what you use to say it: the TR-10i’s advanced echo cancellation through its DSP chip limits background noise for crystal-clear sound quality – wherever you have to take that call. |
| • |
One-touch recording with easy to use included software provides you with a unique tool to record iChat conversations, create voice memos, and later email them to friends or coworkers, so that you can make sure you never forget a thing. |

How is the TR-10i powered? Does it require batteries? |
| TR-10i uses a USB connection to power and transfer information – you don’t need any batteries! |

Can you explain how TR-10i can be used as a speakerphone as well as a handset? |
TR-10i provides you with two different modes of operation: Hands-free conference phone or personal handset. Use the mode switch located on the side of the device to save the trouble of having to switch devices for different communication needs.
| • |
Hands-free speakerphone mode: suitable for long conversations or as a conference phone in a meeting room. Place TR-10i flat on the table to get the best sound reception and output. |
| • |
Personal handset mode: to keep conversation contents private, or for making calls in a more public environment without affecting others around you, simply switch TR-10i to this mode and use it as a handset. Enjoy the same convenience and comfort of a handset whether you are reporting back to the company, having a chat with friends or keeping in touch with distant relatives. |

Will the TR-10i Personal Conference Phone only work with iChat? Is it possible to use TR-10i with other Internet communication or conferencing software? |
| TR-10i has been designed to be used with iChat, and includes buttons to access iChat’s features. TR-10i also works well as a high quality communication device compatible with other VoIP software, and the speakerphone, microphone, recorder and volume buttons will function as normal. The iChat related features (Launch iChat, Accept incoming calls, End current calls) and the buttons to access these features will only work with iChat. |

What is the difference between the one-way and two-way recording functions of TR-10i? |
| Apart from using TR-10i as a one-way voice recorder, you can also record a two-way conversation, the difference is explained below: Two-way recording: When you are having a conversation on iChat, you can use the recording function in TR-10i to record the entire conversation to capture the voice from both sides. The recording function works not only in iChat-to-iChat calls, but also for iChat calls to mobiles, landlines and international calls. One-way recording: Use TR-10i as a high-quality microphone to record and produce sound files, for use in podcasts or voice notes and other application. |

How is TR-10i able to provide unlimited recording time, which is a feature of its recording function? What is the process involved in recording the conversations? |
| The recording function in TR-10i works by using custom-made recording software to store the sound file in the computer hard disk space. Unlike most recording software that limit recording time from one to five minutes, you can record conversations of any lengths as long as there is enough storage space on your computer hard disk. Sound files are stored in WAV format to preserve the original sound quality, which the user can convert to different formats to keep the size of sound file to a minimum. |

When I'm in handset mode, the microphone works. When I'm in speakerphone mode, it doesn't. Why? |
This is most likely a software issue. Please follow these steps:
| • |
Download and install the latest version of the software, which can be found under the Support page of this site. |
| • |
Install, then run the IPEVO Control Center. Set the TR-10 as your input and output from the drop-down menus. |
| • |
Launch your IM software. Try placing a phone call. |
| • |
When on your call, watch the Ipevo Control Center. The Input and Output levels should be high/maximum - if it's not, drag the level to maximum. This is a case we've seen in certain Macs, where the Input level automatically gets set to zero on the 1st install. This is a bug we're working on fixing, and this should be a one-time fix. |

Why do the speaker and mic work, but not the buttons? |
| The TR-10i requires a driver for the mute, launch, call and record buttons to work. The latest version can be found under the support page. Please make sure that you are running the Ipevo Control Center every time you want to use the buttons. Note that you can use your TR-10i as a standard speaker and microphone without a driver for any other program (iTunes, GarageBand, etc). |

How do I use my TR-10i with Xlite, iTunes, or other non-iLife programs? Will the buttons work? |
| TR-10i has been designed to be used with iChat, and includes buttons to access iChat’s features. TR-10i also works well as a high quality communication device compatible with other VoIP software, and the speakerphone, microphone, recorder and volume buttons will function as normal - simply select "Ipevo microphone with FreeRec" in the input preference of your software. However, the iChat related features (Launch iChat, Accept incoming calls, End current calls, Mute) and the buttons to access these features will only work with iChat. |

I've downloaded version 2.2 of the Mac software, yet when I go under the "About" section of the Ipevo Control Center, it says "v.1.1.1.18". Do I have the latest driver? |
| Yes you do! We have one version number to keep track in our testing cue (v2.2), and one number for internal R&D purposes (v.1.1.1.18). We also think it's a bit confusing, so we'll be aligning our numbering system very soon! |
