The IPEVO Point 2 View (P2V) USB camera is, has remarkably good resolution, and comes with a stand that is perfect for doing demos. The USB cable went into an open port on my Mac, and within seconds an image appeared in the P2V application window. The camera has 2 megapixel resolution, if you want higher-resolution video chats, the P2V is a pretty decent solution.

This is my pick for anyone who needs an inexpensive camera to show fine detail work, such as closeups of electronic devices or to project text and photos to a class or in a meeting. Overall I am impressed with every aspect of this camera. A good choice for just about any use from pointing out a window to desktop use and especially for closeup work or to use as a projection source.

| IPEVO: Good Design Doesn't Have to Be Expensive |

A webcam with a twist- namely a jointed stand that makes it look a lot like a small lamp and a macro mode for better focus when dealing with objects close-up. A monitor clip is included, so it does offer a pretty wide array of ways to use it. If you are trying to demo objects, or still items, it’s a pretty nifty camera and the flexible stand certainly adds points.

I would like to give a huge thumbs up to IPEVO. This is a fantastically designed camera which has had a lot of thought put into the engineering of the base and camera it’s self. The quality of the camera is extremely high and I would have no problems at all recommending this camera for any business, institution or home user who wants a great USB camera. I can certainly see many great uses for this camera, as we have gone over the review, and after using it myself for a few weeks now I must say this has to be the BEST web camera I have ever used.

This camera would be perfect for someone wanting to make a stop motion animation video. Why? Well, the arm allows you to orient the camera right where you want it. No longer are you required to sit right in front of the screen to be seen by your camera. There’s also a physical switch which I really like, something you rarely see on webcams.

So if you are looking for a lightweight document camera that can be used with both Mac and Windows, the iPevo is an ideal tool for taking a look at objects at a very close distance with great sharpness. It is amazing to see the object or page you have placed under the camera lens come up on your computer with such clarity. I truly was amazed at the quality of the picture and just how light it is to carry around. I know that this is one gadget that I will carry around in my bag when I do presentations and workshops.

The main reason I wanted to give the IPEVO a shot was to see how it would perform when recording and taking pictures of objects like mobile phones, since that’s what I do a lot of when writing reviews. I plugged in the IPEVO Point 2 View and it allowed me to start recording the video. Since the IPEVO Point 2 View offers its own software, you can see how well the IPEVO Point 2 View handles a close-up as well as the traditional distance for conference calls.

The P2V is indeed designed with interesting concepts. The most eye-catching part is the white, elegant long-neck webcam stand. While the extreme close-up capability and the detachable main body and included long-neck stand help to achieve this point 2 view concept from a novel idea, to practical use. Luckily, IPEVO has rolled out the P2V. Just pull the main body to your eye level, and you are ready to experience video chat in a whole new dimension.
