You can still use Kaleido R7 to display photos using a compatible memory card or USB flash drive. 2.
Will Kaleido R7 work without a computer? What is the minimum system requirement?
You can still use Kaleido R7 to display photos using a compatible memory card or USB flash drive. Due to the image processing functions performed by the EyeStage™ software, please check the system requirements detailed in the product information / specification. If you are still unsure, you can download EyeStage™ for free to test on your system.

You can press the numbered buttons on the remote control to gain instant access to three pre-set channels. You can think of this as a cross between a TV channel and an Internet Bookmark. To set these channels, simply go to Settings, Shortcut Channels and select the channels you want to be on each of the three pre-set channels. These only apply to the channels that are in My Gallery.

12.
What is the difference between the power switch on the side and the standby switch on the touch panel?
The power switch located on the side is suitable for turning the device off during long periods of non-usage; when you only need to temporarily pause the playback or operation of Kaleido R7, it is possible to simply press the standby button on the touch panel to help extend the screen monitor lifespan as well as saving time on waiting when the device is restarting after powering off.

13.
Kaleido R7 is unable to display some photos that have been edited using Photoshop? What is the problem here?
When using certain image editing software (e.g. Photoshop) to process the photos, please remember that when you save the image as a JPEG file, some programs will provide an option of saving or storing the image as a standard or advanced file type. 14.
What are the different functions for the USB and mini-USB port located at the back of the device?
USB A port (main controller) allows Kaleido R7 to display photos from USB flash drives or USB card readers. USB mini B port (connector) directly links Kaleido R7 with the computer, where Kaleido R7 will be seen as a Mass Storage Device that you can directly access photos from without the installation of any software. You will need to purchase a USB connector cable (Type A-B) separately if you want to make use of the mini-USB port on Kaleido R7.

15.
Why can’t I operate Kaleido R7 after connecting it to my computer with a USB connector cable (Type A-B)?

As a result, you will only be able to access the information stored in the internal memory without being able to operate the device or access its complete features or functions.

16.
What is the difference between “News RSS” and “Photo RSS”?
Every channel subscribed using EyeStage™ can be displayed in different user selected Modes. In general, photo related channels will have four modes for the user to select from. In the context of RSS, if you select “Photo RSS”, then EyeStage™ will treat this channel as a normal photo channel with four user selectable viewing modes optimized for photo viewing; however, for “News RSS”, EyeStage™ will determine, based on the content of the RSS feed, a layout that is most suitable for the display of the information, and so there will not be any user selectable viewing modes.

17.
Why is it that some channels are skipped without any of the contents being played?
When the network connection is unstable or the servers from websites such as Flickr or Picasa are unable to respond very quickly, EyeStage™ will automatically skip to the next channel to avoid long delays.
